Peril Hill As someone wrote in a review of the Peril Hill debut, "Scream At The Jackdaw, Make Him Stop", the fervour is in the mythos of the lyrics. Arcane and surreal bindings of dream like images unwrapping, in the gentlest voice, into plain, epic horror.
The words and the voice belong to Marc Gardner. For this recording, and for the few early performances, Fiona and Jonathan Marshall provided a warm, sluggish bed of viola and harmonium above and amongst which Tom Hardman coupled and coiled banjo and home made psaltery with Marc's guitar and vocal lines.
“Scream At The Jackdaw, Make Him Stop” is a sequence of six songs that were recorded at the very beginning of 2005. We pressed the record button before playing our instruments and in doing so the recordings were made.
It has been produced in a limited edition of 250 deluxe, brown cardboard sleeves with artwork by Jan Hisek . See the Reviews section of this website for an indication of what some people make of it. Six pounds including postage & packing
